June 2007 Construction Update

A Hawaiian blessing of the Trump Tower Waikiki property and groundbreaking ceremony was conducted on January 11, 2007. Construction started April 9, 2007 and is expected to be complete in August 2009. Every effort is being made to ensure that guests to the area are not inconvenienced as the buidling rises. here will be no loud pile driving. Instead, the team is currently using a much quieter method (auguer cast pilings) to lay the building's foundation.

This process will be completed around the beginning of June. Visitors should find that there will be minimal traffic impacts in the Beach Walk area as the primary entrances to the job site are located along Saratoga Road. An eight–foot high plywood fence topped with a 3–foot dust barrier has been erected around the site. Crews are using dust meters to monitor the site and will water as needed. Tire–washing machinery will ensure that vehicles leaving the site will not track dirt onto the roadway.

Frequent monitoring with noise meters will ensure compliance with our noise permit. We will continue to provide updates to this site as they become available.
