WORLD'S BEST MAI TAI

The most common drink you will hear people recommend in Hawaii is the Mai Tai.  Everywhere you visit seems to have their own version of the famous drink.  That is why there could quite possibly be over 100 different types in the islands alone!   But know only one has captured the palettes of those who not only appreciate a great drink – but an amazing one!

This alone has inspired a search for the World’s Best Mai Tai- a title that is currently held by in-house mixologist and Food and Beverage Manager, Christina Maffei. 

After tasting many of the different versions around the island, Maffei, was inspired to create a mai tai that would surpass all others but yet still pay homage to the original world renowned cocktail.   Just this year Maffei competed at the World Championships in Kona, Hawaii against 30 finalists of over 1000 entries to the competition.  After the judge’s panel, consisting of world renowned mixologists, chefs, tiki drink experts, and critics, tasted and critiqued all 30 of the finalists cocktails, Maffei was awarded the title of WORLD’S BEST MAI TAI.
